captain_smallIt has been a very eventful couple of months here at Acostar! The biggest and most recent accomplishment is that Captain Elkrun’s Make It So At Acostar won Best Puppy in Show on Friday April 27th at the Assiniboine Kennel Club from Judge Alan Ewles. He was, as always, expertly handled by Tammy Sawatzky and groomed by Natasha Humeston. Thank you Tammy, Natasha and Mr. Ewles for making this tremendous honor possible. Watch for future updates on this beautiful boy. We expect him to be a new champion very soon.

tia_smallTia’s achievement was a great thrill and we are very proud of her but even more thrilling was that Captain got Best of Breed on the Saturday and TWO Best Puppy in Groups that same week-end! He received one on the Saturday from judge Peter Machen and one on the Sunday from judge Ed Wild. Captain is only 7 months old and already well on his way to his CKC Championship title. Acostar would like to thank Natasha Humeston our groomer for the fabulous job she does on all our dogs and Tammy Sawatzky and her whole team for the care and expertise they put into showing our dogs.

ruby_smallLast but certainly not least our girl Ruby Acostar’s Porto Rubi whelped her third litter through the early morning hours of Saturday April 28th and gave us 8 beautiful healthy puppies. She had 6 females, two wavy and 4 curly and only two males one wavy, one curly. This so far looks to be without a doubt Ruby’s nicest litter and I am really excited to watch them grow and see how they develop. A special thank you goes to Carol Arbuthnot, who owns the sire of this litter Markos Seastar Marcos Portugal of Sapphire for taking such good care of Ruby and all your efforts in making this litter a reality.
