It has been a very eventful 2006 so far.
Johnnie finished his Canadian Championship in grand style in late March. He went Best of Breed both days of the Battle River Canine Association shows in Camrose to complete his Canadian Championship in only three week-ends of showing. Then in April he got another Best of Breed in Red Deer at the Red Deer and District Kennel Club shows. Later that month Johnnie had his hips X-rayed and the films were submitted to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). His hips were rated GOOD and he received a permanent OFA number. He is now available at stud to approved bitches and can be found on the PWD Studs website (please see links page). Johnnie has been attending obedience and agility classes on a weekly basis and participated in a “Water Workshop” sponsored by the APWDC in June. Earlier this month he got his first leg in Novice Obedience towards his Companion Dog (CD) title. We’ll keep working on it and will hopefully get that title by this years end.

Sabra has also had a wonderful year. In June she earned her first two points going Winner’s Bitch two days at the Northern Alberta Canine Association shows. She also went Best of Opposite both days. Then in July Sabra won a two point Winner’s at the Evelyn Kenny Kennel and Obedience Club shows in Indus. Earlier this month she earned another two points going Winner’s Bitch two days at the Alberta Kennel Club shows in Shouldice. She also won two Best of Breed’s that week-end. She was beautifully handled for all her points by Tracy Brown of Calgary and groomed by myself and Lana Langly. She now has a total of 6 points and will continue to show locally until she has achieved her Championship. Later this month she will have her hips X-rayed and the films will be submitted to OFA. If her hips are given a passing rating she will be bred at the time of her next heat and hopefully produce our first litter late this year.

Please keep checking for future updates.
